1. Talking *about* the patient when they're there rather than including them in the conversation (i.e. to a coworker, family member, etc.) No one wants to be treated as an inanimate object or a project! (Even keeping an open body posture to face BOTH the patient and the other person helps).

2. Closed body language & tone of voice in general (i.e. not looking at the patient in the conversation, multitasking to the point of inattention, sounding bored or distracted, using dismissive or patronizing tones of voice, etc.)
