This is cool, I'll probably come back to this at some point as learning at least he basics of blender and 3d design is one of my new years resolutions.

I also found that pointiness is way too fiddly to work with, so thanks for showing a different method! The only thing I found about ambient occlusion is that in my attempts for stuff like chipped paint where I want well defined borders its too "grainy" and I haven't really found a way to fix that.
