Khafre Pyramid Muon Scan Results | Ancient Architects

After my last couple of videos on the Khafre Pyramid, I’ve noticed a number of comments from viewers asking whether or not this pyramid is going to be muon scanned, in the same way the Great Pyramid and Bent Pyramid have in the past decade or so.

And that seems to be because many people find it hard to believe that the Khafre Pyramid, a huge structure that is only just a few metres shorter than the Great Pyramid, is just a huge stack of limestone blocks, with no chambers, grand galleries or notable passages incorporated into the masonry.

Well, you may be surprised to learn that the Khafre Pyramid was muon scanned, and no not in the 21st century, but in the 1960s! Yes, in 1965, nearly 60 years ago, scientists sent a proposal to Egyptian authorities, asking if they could probe the Second Pyramid by detecting cosmic rays that pass through it.

When Hawass is gone, our knowledge of ancient Egypt will quadruple. Thief of antiquity & knowledge. Great channel ✌️

It's baffling how Hawass believes there are undiscovered rooms in the Great Pyramid yet he completely dismissed the "big void".

You know, for a "they discovered absolutely nothing" video, this was very informative, as usual for you Matt..!!!

Truly the Great Pyramid design is unique. And truly the muon scanning is super interesting!!

The tech would have to have gotten better in the past 60 ish years.

The big void in Khufu’s pyramid appears to parallel the Grand Gallery. Given GG’s most likely use as a counterweight for an ancient pulley system, this second chamber appears to perform the same function for placing the final granite blocks in the Kings Chamber at their higher elevation. While I disagree with the internal ramp theory proposed by JP Houdin, I endorse his proposal for the function of the GG. There is no other explanation for the inner details and clues he exposed.

Scientists: "We have completed the muon scan of the Khafre pyramid. Our conclusion is that due to the complete lack of muons, there are no cows in the pyramid."

The Great Gallery and the 4 shafts remain the biggest riddles ever.

It boggles the mind that the other two Giza plateau pyramids were basically built as a stack of limestone blocks to just cover up the underground cavities. I mean that was the plan all along?

Interesting how Khufu’s pyramid needed weight-relieving chambers and angled roof stones to protect the important parts, but Khafre’s seemingly has the entire weight of the pyramid pressing down on its single chamber. Unless there are empty spaces above it…

Interesting to see Luis W Alvarez's name on the paper you talk about. He was the person who developed the dinosaur extinction theory due to an extraterrestrial strike on the Yucatan peninsula. Seems he had a wide field of study.

"If we're thinking logically, just how likely is it?" Well, there's the problem, isn't it? Once again we are asked to substitute guesswork for evidence, because surely the ancient Egyptians must have thought the way we think and had the same priorities, so for them to defy our predictions must be "illogical", right? And that way of thinking has been SO productive in understanding the Great Pyramid, for example.

You should make video about megalithic base of Khafre Pyramid. It looks enormous, strange and so different from Chufu.

They are scanning this pyramid right now... it's closed for public and there are huge scanners inside the main chamber.

khafre came to the throne after his brother, perhaps building the granite chambers and gallery in the great pyramid were so time consuming he feared it would not be finished before he died

Just the fact that it was scanned 60 years ago is enough for me to think it deserves to be looked at again. Surely the technology has improved and is more detailed now. Plus, they could maybe try to pay more attention to areas that weren’t scanned before.
