What state are you in? I grew up in northwest NJ and it looks just like this (I’m not kidding. It’s all dairy farms) 😃

I used to do this to my mother's chickens when I was a teenager in the 60's. Put them all to sleep, lay them all down on their backs in the pasture, and then run to the house and tell mom that "something is wrong with the chickens". Worked a couple of times before she figured out what i was doing. They stay 'asleep' for a few minutes....

That's so interesting!
I met someone who raises and releases them for hunting. They let the females go into the wild early then later release the males knowing that they'll automatically seek out the females who are already acclimated to the wild. That's in Minnesota.
