For those who don't know, the cuckoo is a savage even from the time it hatches; the mother cuckoo lays her egg in the nest of another similar looking bird. When it hatches, it kills the other nestlings by kicking them out of the nest leaving only the cuckoo to be taken care of by another bird; the cruelty of nature....

For those who dont know, the "cuckoo" is greaat coucal--still from the same family, but they are not brood parasite that lay their egg in other bird nest. So this is purely predatory

The saddest of all this is that the babies thought they were going to be fed. At least the cuckoo was quick...

It is actually a Coucal. It shares the same family with the cuckoo, that is why they look similar except for the redddish color on the wings. The biggest difference is that the coucal parents would raise the chicks on their own unlike the cuckoos which would put their eggs on the nests of other birds.
