That baby should have kept quiet when the parents weren’t around, it was making too much noise and moving a lot. Normally I see the chicks quiet and lying down and only move when they sense the parents land on the nest.

Imagine going through the pain of finding a mate, building a nest, carrying and laying an egg, sitting on it for weeks, it finally hatches, so you go and get the baby bird lots of food, then you come back and some inconsiderate lizard eats your baby. Mondays am I right?

First time I've seen that one. Usually the predators come right up to the nest and yank the kids out. Never seen one tear out the bottom of the nest to get to the baby instead.
