What really happened.

On the @MTV VMA 2024 red carpet, @ChappellRoan was seen getting caught in a bit of an altercation and telling a photographer to "shut the ---- up." Later after the incident, Chappell told @EntertainmentTonight "You don't yell at me like that." 👆🏼

It now looks like the photographer was originally upset with Chappell for "missing her spot" on the red carpet. After the confrontation, Chappell went on to win New Artist, and thanked her queer fans and drag queens for the award. 🏆

I think it was a weird vibe all around. We have no idea what he was saying to her before the clip starts so her outburst might have been totally justified.
Edit: let me be clear in saying I support her standing up for herself and the other photographer. We have no context on what he said before the full clip started, meaning we don’t know how long he heckled her before she and the other photographer popped back at him. I never once said it wasn’t justified or that she should have behaved a certain way.

Sounds like he was complaining that she missed her spot and nothing photographer told him to shut the f up and then he was responding to the other photographer. He referenced Channel in the third person, meaning he wasn’t talking directly at her but was saying, “I’m not going to shut the f up, she missed her spot.”

You still messed the video up and it cut it short, it is two photographers talking to one another. Chappel misheard, but really two photographers said to one another to stfu, and the other photographer said for him to stfu, then chappel chimmed in and thought it was about her. I love chappel, but i dont know how this can be so confusing. Chappel was in the wrong, but by mistake.
