some of the test video is super choppy and I didn’t have time to fix before it went live, sorry! Better done than perfect though ✌🏻 what a killer lens!!!

Oh, I’d love to get it for portraits, although I’m using the Sigma 14-24 and 14mm F/1.8 mainly for that! Cheers from Japan, and great video!

Was looking over reviews of this lens...on and off for the past couple of weeks and boom, your video comes out. I'm convinced.

This is my go to lens for all things snowboarding

I’ve been searching for a lens like this for a while, it seems that all other reviews don’t want this lens to be as good as it is for as cheap as it is... really thank you for a honest review. 👍😄

I purchased this lens without doing my research since my Samyang 12mm f/2.0 crop sensor lens was exceptionally sharp. Well, the sharpness of this lens did not blow my socks off but, it is quite usable both on full frame and crop format cameras. In fact, corner sharpness on a crop sensor camera is a bit better than on a full frame and the 21mm equivalent makes it pretty handy... I bought the lens used and got it for a very decent price and I will be keeping it!

The auto focus is solid. l use it shooting real estate photos but turn it off shooting real estate video, can't have it hunting while doing the ninja walk. As you showed, it's excellent for real estate video on pan and tilt shots. I also use AF for those close ups for detail shots, it gives nice dof, no need for a 50mm lens imo. Saves time and money, a win win. For this real estate photographer, it's the best lens for the Canon M50. I can't recommend this lens enough.

Thank you this is just what I needed. I am thinking about getting into real estate but didn't want an expensive lens if it doesn't work out

Great curious about this lens. I kept my 17-28 Tamron, it gets wide enough for me. But, I love to see your reviews on everything and this lens is always very interesting. Thanks mate!

Hello Chris: This was a good video. I bought the 14 mm this week, primarily for video .. light weight. The weight of the lens is primarily at the end and because of this I have wondered if that causes more camera shake in the video and/or if it is because of wide-angle. Have your heard of that issue?

Actually was considering this lens as a supplement for My 16-35 mm. Great review as always bud 😊

You CAN put on filters - there's a contraption you can put on the lens to hold - I think it was for 88mm filters

Just picked up the A7iii with the kit lens. Looking for what lens to get first. Trying to keep it budget friendly. Want to get the Sony 55mm F1.8, but not able to drop $1000 on a lens just now. Was thinking Sony SEL85F18 85mm F/1.8 or FE 50mm F1.8 Standard Lens (SEL50F18F). Any suggestions?

There's some crazy banding on the sides of this video, even at the highest resolution! I wonder what the rendering cause is. But great review overall!

Can you tell me where I can get a filter holder for the Samyang 14mm 2.8??? Apart from the incredibly expensive one from NiSi. It has to be available somewhere. Because without the option of using filters, such as ND, this lens is only half as useful. I'm already looking for the worst here.

Cheapest - may be... Widest - not anymore. That crown sits now with Venus Optics Laowa 9 mm f/5.6 FF for Sony E-mount. The Samyang is of course 2 stops faster and therefore prefered in low light /Astro. 9 mm to 14 mm IS quite a difference, though.

Thanks for putting this video together Chris! Love all of your content! Do you mind linking the Gerald Undone video you referenced at 5:50? I'm not seeing an annotation in the video.

If you already owned the 16-35gm and 24-70gm - what would you next lens purchase be? For an a7iii.

I found this lens used on adorama but it says it’s a manual focus 😩
