I remember helping my grandma make pasteles and alcapurrias when i was little. I haven't made it in so long that i really forgot how much actual work goes into it. But once you taste it you realize how worth it it was. My grandma is from Caguas and so is my mom, my dad is from Bayamon.

My mother (RIP 2003) always made these. She was from Puerto Rico. She also made Pastelillos and other Puerto Rican foods. I actually tried to make these but wow does it take hours of food prep to even reach the stage of frying them.
