In this video:

When female mosquitoes poke their proboscis through your skin so they can suck some of your blood to be later used to make eggs, they inject you with some of their saliva. This saliva helps them to drink your blood more quickly, because it contains a cocktail of anticoagulants. Once the female mosquito is full up of your blood or is disturbed, she flies away, leaving some of her saliva behind. Your body then kicks your immune system in gear as a response to the presence of this saliva. It produces various antibodies which in turn bind to the antigens in the mosquito’s saliva. This then triggers the release of histamine.

If you are in the field and want to get rid of the bites for good and can see and reach them, you can squeeze the saliva out of your body by placing thumbs opposite of each other near the hole left by the bite and squeezing. If a clear liquid appears on your skin or nails, keep repeating until blood starts to come up. May need to repeat it later once or twice as the saliva gathers up.
Itching is gone almost immediately, only coming back if this needs to be repeated. I am quite sensitive to insect bites, so this helped me out a lot.

Yeah, but whenever I get a mosquito bite, I scratch it till it bleeds so that there is no skin to itch if there is no skin at the site of the bite.

I've been lucky enough to gain an immunity to mosquito bites (at least to those of my local species). Mosquitos are still attracted to me and bite me, but I no longer have a reaction.

So they dont purposely make me itchy. Like i dont have a problem with them drinking my blood but can they please not spit in me and make me so god damn itch
