Band Aid 30 - Do They Know It's Christmas? (Official Video) [4K]

With Band Aid 30, the baton was passed to a third generation of musicians to continue the legacy of using music for social change. In 2014 there was an urgent need for help to tackle a new disease – Ebola - spreading throughout parts of west Africa. This version of the song was recorded in November, at London’s SARM Studios, where the original Band Aid single had been recorded in 1984.
The lyrics were slightly modified and there were other language versions. Carla Bruni leading the French and Die Toten Hosen lead vocalist Campino leading the German version. The video for Band Aid 30 was first shown on the results show of UK TV’s The X Factor and, as with the earlier versions, it became the fastest selling single of the year.

Bono is still rocking after 40 yrs..his voice never changes. The original version can never be topped...and never will there be the world's musical talent in one recording studio again

Avril was not an artist or performer I really cared for until I heard her raw, natural and incredible talent while singing Holy Night. You’ve got it! And now I get it. Wow!

This, for me, is a reminder of how many beautiful souls we have lost in the original version of this song. While the clarity of hearing all of the words is welcoming, along with seeing all of the tremendous efforts that everyone made, there is still something a little more magical with the original. This doesn't take away our thanks to all of you who took part, who were brilliant. The most important thing to remember this Christmas is to remember those around us who need encouragement & love. Kindness is what we can offer people, along with doing your absolute best to help people in need, where possible. Merry Christmas to all! 🫠🎄⭐️🎁💚

This version is ok but the original was the best by far, it was iconic & had a much better vibe and the 80's era was so good music wise.. RIP liam 🙏❤

The energy of all those stars getting together in 84 literally spans generations. That will never be replicated but absolutely fair play for having a go 👏👏

Extreme poverty is still evil to fight, more than then. Do not waste food. And Bono's voice always makes the difference! ❤

To see this generation come together like they did back in the 80s is impressive and heart warming. We may have feels for the original but have some feels that this cause is coming back around

so much talent here, better to have just written a new song - the original song does not need a remake

whilst the 1984 version will always be my favourite, it’s so lovely to see those who have left us share their talents, and have the memory of when this debuted on x factor all those years ago.

Much as I love the original version, Sinead O'Connor takes the song to a different level! Not only her lyricism and the way she delivered that line, but for who she was as a person and how her life and career speaks to injustice and oppression! RIP! I vividly remember watching the Michael Buerk report on the famine in Ethiopia, and it is difficult to comprehend how little we knew about what was going on in the rest of the world compared to today. We are so lucky to have social media - and there is nothing more important than fighting to keep it censorship free! Free Palestine!
