Put a wet cloth near a chopping board. The enzyme from the onion clings onto moisture. I've not cried since I've learned that trick!

Sharp knife, that’s all you need, you outgrow it eventually, but cutting instead of almost biting with a dull knife, makes the difference

Let them sit in a bowl of cold water for a few minutes. Definitely helps!!

I rinse the onion off in water and it helps it not be so intense so I can cut quickly without crying 😅

Today I learned that contact lenses protect against chopping onions

I remember a hack when I was at Vocational School, I did a trick where I put onions in an ice bath to reduce the risk of crying while chopping onions. As of now, I had to risk cutting onions like what you do. Thanks for the tip chef! ❤✌️☮️

Its simple. The stuff that burns, shoots straight up. Just back up, and it wont get you.

Just leave it in the fridge for few minutes before cutting it … the best hack ever

I have a pair of Speedo goggles in my kitchen. Very weird but it works

I think some people retain their third eyelid from a lineage of cutting onions and similar fragrant spices and herbs

I never cry chopping onions and I don't wear contacts. I never have had that problem. 😕

I got SMILE laser eye surgery. Best decision ever. I’d maybe wear goggles

Don’t chop off the eye of the onion and you won’t cry

I can't tell if you're serious or trying to be funny by faking faulty reasoning.
How many times a day do you chop onions????
You'd rather put in and take out contacts multiple times a day, pay for contacts your entire life, and deal with everything else that comes with using contacts rather than getting lasik and fixing your vision permanently so that you don't cry chopping onions?
