I noticed that horizontal slices are pretty useless, since you're cutting layers of it off anyways into small chunks without it, so keep that in mind. You can chop way faster too

Tip: onions make you cry because they are attracted to the nearest source of water. Put a wet towel next to the onions. It won’t irritate your eyes as much.

Almost a perfect tutorial for dicing an onion, you didn't cut the root so +1 for that, but you don't need the horizontal cuts, the layers of onion already act as those cuts.
