I was discarded after a 40 yr marriage and 46 yr relationship almost 2 yrs ago. He discarded me when I began to see his lies and question him. It was well planned out and I believe his machavalianism causes him to continually deny his multiple affairs.
He pretends he's a nice guy and smeared me to explain our long term relationship break. Also, he hid lots of money over a long period of time. One divorce lawyer told me he sees long term marriages ending with hidden money - all of the time.

Does seem like most if not all narcissists pretend to have high morals and loyalty but will commit infidelity without a doubt! This trickery betrayal is so hard to take! Most disgusting and hard to forgive ourselves!

Just know infidelity never leads to anything positive or good. If you're not happy in your marriage get some counseling or end the marriage before starting a new relationship....
