I definetely need to get in the habit of increasing my budget from August-December. My spending is a lot heavier going into the second half of the year.

I have stopped doing my nails, buying breakfast and lunch during work days, taking my car to the car wash
I do my own nails(simple mani and pedi)
I take my lunch to work
I wash my own car
I save breakfast and lunch 15x20= 300
Nails 2 x 60=120
Car wash 2 x15=30=60
Total 480 a month that goes into my emergency savings fund
I cut off cable, dry my clothes on a clothing rack, switched my cell phone company for a total of 300-320 of savings a month that I put into my emergency savings
I am saving 700-800 a month by making a few changes
And I’m planning to make a few more changes
Things at up priorities change
I have no one to impress but myself
Blessings ladies …

I loved this. Especially the idea of pulling money out specifically in your problem area like variable spending to make it tangible. Also, thanks for the reminder to re-evaluate the budget because i haven’t done it done the pandemic started.

I have had several. Two major overspending categories: food and gas for the car.

That’s true about being honest with yourself. That’s the things that I learned because you may as well be honest. If you know that your birthday is coming or school is starting you should put the actual amount you think you’ll spend. Then you wouldn’t be overwhelmed if you noticed that you didn’t budget enough. Great video! Your videos are really helpful and I’ve used your tips from other videos and they have helped me a lot!

I’m so much better with my spending since I met you and started using cash for variables about two months ago. I still over spending a little bit it’s with cash and not credit. I’m a work in progress 😊

We had an expensive weekend. We started with a nail in the tire, which turned into a day spent at the mall, becasue the tire shop is near the mall and we had a long wait to get our car taken care of. It was hubby's birthday and I didn't want him to have a bad day. So I did buy the buttons for the kid's jackets. But then we went to the arcade (but I set a firm amount of $20 to play games with hubby and our toddlers), and then we went to Vintage Stock. We always find movies at good prices for the kids. My 4 year old REALLY likes a specific Elmo movie, and we found it. So we found 4 movies for about $17 after tax. We did have to buy a tire (still not happy about that) but it wasn't repairable so... it is what it is. But thank goodness it happened at home and not while we were on our big grocery trip in a few weeks.

Your videos have really helped me get my families budget under control. What do yo suggest if your sinking fund doesn’t cover the overage (or you don’t have a sinking fund yet)?

Would it be possible to reconcile the overage for eating out with Emergency Funds money since your normal routine was affected by a natural disaster and you had to leave home? At least that is my understanding of an emergency fund or I could be wrong, I’m still learning about budgeting.

Considering I just spent WAY too much in all 3 of my cards (to the point I had to get SEVERAL part time jobs to cover it) going forward, I'm ending the year strong.
I already asked one for a cap, and while I spent a lot today (statement close date HAHA) it was all stuff I NEEDED with ONE thing I wanted - a yellow tang lol.
I know exactly where I went wrong-my saltwater tank lol. It's expensive, but it's only as expensive as you let it be. BEING made some mistake purchases on fish and coral and items....it hurts your wallet. But going into Nov, and December, I won't be anywhere near the red, which thank god lol. Though my cat sure is trying my wallet lol. Of course I get the short end of the stick with oral health, AND THEN MY CATS DO TOO it's cursed lol. But I feel so good about the end of the year. No more over spending.
Only spend what you can afford.

You might have already done a video about this, but are you using 2 different planners for personal & business? I have a small business- right now all the $$ is combined in the same account which I know is wrong, but it’s making so little right now (under $3k) but it is getting messy & ive have been reconciling calling things “per” or “bus”

I’d love to use your planner for personal- but my question is if you are also using the same planner for business or is there another planner or style that would be better for business? Thank you!
