My son cried in pain at night for over two years. No one took me seriously. I almost lost my mind. Eventually I figured out the link to food, and having the ALCAT done in addition to doing SCD helped. It's been four years now and we can usually keep on top of his triggers. The pushback though of family was unreal. It affected the support offered and overall relationships to this day in a negative way.

Hi. I am a doctor in the Philippines. When I was young, like about in the ages 6 to about 10 years old, I would complain of muscle pain usually of my soleus-gastrochnemius muscles and also of my knees and ankles. My parents used to ignore me and thought I was just seeking attention. Fast-forward to my college days about 10 years ago I started to have them again. Eventually I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and my psoriasis flares bagan to show up around that time too. Now I have to take pain medication PRN and have been taking methotrexate on and off. Well, just to let other parents know, your children might really be experiencing pain if their complaint lasts quite a long time. Please don't put it off as attention-seeking behavior right away.
