This has changed my life! I suffered from terrible stomach issues incl trapped gas, constipation and crippling stomach aches due to both. Since I started using a castor oil pack a couple months ago my tummy aches are all but gone. I'm able to release gas and go to the bathroom regularly which has made me feel like a new woman! Great presentation Dr. Bowring, I've been reading up on castor oil packs and some of the things I've found are: 1) use organic (hexane free) oil, 2) buy castor oil that is bottled in a glass jar, 3) try to avoid using castor oil in plastic bottles, as the castor oil absorbs the chemicals in the plastic. 4) keep your used cotton cloth in a glass jar between uses, in the fridge to prevent it from becoming stale and to inhibit bacterial growth. Since the oil is absorbed through the skin. Thanks.

Very interesting, I have not done the packs, but I have been rubbing organic castor oil on my very painful knees and the top of my left arm. Just recently I was on holiday and it got even worse with walking, every step was so painful . So when I got home I started rubbing both knees before bed and again I. The night when I woke up . And then again in the morning . And in a short time the pain has gone from 100%, down to about 10%. It’s definitely working and something I will keep up. Yesterday I even cancelled my hospital appointment I have waited months for, and told the physio what I had been doing, she was really interested, and said keep it up and get back to us if needed, I hope I don’t have too.

Isn't it the same if we rub the oil on the belly and sleep with it?
You can replace the hot water bottle by a plastic bag (for freezers) that you can close filled with raw rice. Simply microwave it for a minute or so and put it in a pillow (so you don't burn yourself). It is reusable and non expensive. I've been using mine for 5 years (without changing the rice as it doesn't spoil).

You don’t want to be using castor oil from a plastic bottle because the oil will draw out the plastic and absorb into your body, you should use organic, Hexan and cold pressed castor oil from a dark glass bottle

The main problem of the castor oil packs will be the poison jam in the liver, for by applying the castor oil packs you will be able to mobilize the toxins in the human body but you are not able to excrete these ones efficiently, this in contrast to take castor oil orally. Further a study in the Turkey has shown that castor oil packs are unsuitable to relieve a constipation, this too in contrast to the swallowing of castor oil. So, the optimal manner to cleanse not only the intestines but the liver too will be to swallow regularly 1 tablespoon (= 15 ml) castor oil early in the morning on an empty stomach.
