I recently made dinner and a burger using one can of chickpeas and I thought I wanted to give breakfast a go... what could I make for breakfast using 1 can of chickpeas as the base! Well here it is and I'm telling you it was REALLY GOOD!
One can of chickpeas can do a LOT... So lets grab our can of beans and lets go!

Those people that insist it's not a sausage unless it contains meat don't know the history of sausages, many of which are historically, not meat based. The Welsh Glamorgan Sausage is just one example - which you should totally make, by the way.

In English we abstract food names. We call things sausage, steak, burger, etc. In many other languages, the names of the animals are more frequently used for foods (translating to pig, cow, so on). I think using the abstracted names, like sausage, for plant-based foods is totally okay! Not that my opinion matters, but there's my two cents.

I love to make chickpea chorizo. Pulse up chickpeas in food processor, cook in pan with onions and garlic, add chorizo seasoning and cook until somewhat dry and browned. Put in lavash or tortilla with tofu scramble or chickpea scramble, potatoes and salsa. 😋🤤

OMG I JUST MADE BOTH AND THEY ARE For sure making some of the falasausage to have on hand in the freezer! I used gluten free flour for the cakes and this is by far the best pancake I've had since going gluten free!!! My only vise is I wish you had a written recipe for the sausage to print as I had to write it all down.

That method with the aquafaba folding reminds me of folding egg whites when you make waffles. I am intrigued by the falausages 🤣

The falausages are neat. I wonder how well they’d do if seasoned more like a merguez sausage instead of a traditional breakfast sausage.

Love this. I used to add gram flour to flour as an egg substitute to make pancakes. Less fluffy, more traditional.
Also have made very light vegan quiche by folding whipped aqua faba into justegg.

Chickpeas is a staple in my family, we fried them and us them as snack, we make something call dal with them, we stuff them in dough and make roti, we curry them lots of recipes with channa chickpeas as Americans calls it. Best meal in the morning to keep you filled until lunch.

Have you made chickpea tofu on this channel? I can't remember if I saw the recipe here, as well as on the channel that I was going to use to make mine, or if it was just on that other channel. I ended up using my chickpea flour for something else, but chickpea flour tofu seems like one of the easiest recipes ever and I'm still going to make it one day.

Other than that, I love making "cheats falafel" with canned chickpeas and I ALWAYS save the aquafaba for all the baked goods. Cakes, cupcakes, banana bread...it has been the key to veganizing sweet classics from my childhood! Having said that, I've not tried it for pancakes because I just make them very rarely in general - will give it a go next time :D

The purpose of the lemon juice isn’t for flavor it is another leavening agent. That is why you added the baking soda. You can also beat flax gel into meringue if you don’t have aquafaba.
