I'll take the old truck before the eld/emissions pile of garbage.
Oh no! I'm broken down because a sensor took a crap....I gotta stop and rest because a computer says I'm can't stop because a computer says I'm not tired. Screw government controlled trucking!

Guys are out of their minds on truck prices these days. Trucks are up 30k to 40k more than what they were on the market for 2 years ago. I’m seeing trucks that are 20 years old with a million+ going for upper eighties and nineties. And I’m sorry but that is just a joke! You would have to be a complete fool to pay those prices. I bought a 2016 international lone star 2 years ago with 467k miles and a Cummins for 37k and some change. Now I see that same truck on the market today for 88k to 98k! (Not a time to purchase trucks guys) Inflation may be out of control but these truck sellers just graduated clown college

I never would have guessed that even a old truck was worth anything less than 100k. I grew up being told they where “very expensive” and yes when your talking 60, 70, 80, 90 thousand dollars that’s not cheap but most sedans cost about 30k these days so I figured the big trucks even the old ones would still be worth a pretty penny over any normal car or truck

You know it's not crazy who is asking that price is crazy who is willing to pay that much. These are the people who drive the truck prices up, along with some other factors

I would rather buy that truck than someone give me a new emissions truck.

20 year old truck. But will the newer trucks last 20+ years and still be in good condition? Doubtful.

Finally someone that actually points out the flaws of old trucks. Great job!

I agree trucks are not worth more than 30k but if it was a normal market and i ha d the choice between a pre emissions vs a 2016 semi with a cummins def crap, i would easily choose the pre emissions. The little things you pointed out here will not give you a 2k tow bill plus 6k worth of emissions breakdowns in just 1 break down

I bought an old century 1998 ELD exmpt
Was the biggest mistake, engine and transmission solid but hey hey hey
Almost 20k in repairs
Bushing hoarse seals, tires 5th wheel
Kingpins, the cab was garbage, 5k in chairs dashboard mirror doors panels …
Will never ever buy an old truck anymore I did underestimated all these little things but pay big time later plus freightliner don’t make any replacement parts for those truck anymore
I was having hard time to find any part ….

Western Star is where it’s at. Heavy duty off-road frame and it comes with a DD15

I agree. Because it's pre emissions they think it's gold. Not to mention the fuel consumption on those hood trucks.
