The real Krakatoa in 1883 made the loudest sound ever recorded on our planet. Not even kidding, if you were over 60 km away from the eruption, the sound would have blasted your ears to shit. It was 310 decibels and to compare, a jet engine straight to your ear would only be 120. It was so loud it could be heard clearly from over 1000 km away. I ain't exaggerating. It was that loud.

What you just saw was the son of Krakatoa, not Krakatoa, and the original eruption was so powerful that it shifted the earths axis by about 1 degree, and the sound it made circled roughly 3.5 times around the earth before it stopped. The original sound was recorded at. 310 decibels which could easily kill a person.

Around 194 dB, sound stops becoming sound, and the leftover energy pushes the sound along, and it becomes more of a shockwave. The estimated maximum of Krakatoa was 310 dB.
So anyone even somewhat near this heard the loudest sound possible, while also experiencing a devastating air shockwave which would either kill them or (at minimum) completely rupture their eardrums.
Sailors 40 miles away lost hearing. Germany reported hearing a loud gunshot, and both Britain and the U.S. reported a rise in ocean waves caused by the air pulse, something never seen before in reference to a 'sound'.
It was so powerful, that the shockwave circled the entire Earth 3-4 times before completely dissipating.

I was looking at a list of the names of all volcanoes in Indonesia, it was indeed very amazing because the shapes were very diverse, unique, strange and colorfull. I want to meet all volcanoes in Indonesia. There is even a friend of mine who uses the name of a volcano in Indonesia (Ferdinandz "Tandikat").
