Man City FIFA FFP let off and the meaning of Inequality.
So, this week FIFA overturned their ban on Man City playing in Europe was lifted, along with a reduction in the fine. This was FIFA’s way of saying ‘ok, you committed the offence, but you didn’t know it was an offence’. Yeah. Right.
It supports the oft quoted advice ‘don’t ask permission because they’ll only say no. Better to just do it and if you get caught, say sorry’.
Setting aside FIFA’s complete loss of moral authority on Financial FairPlay, it does beg the question ‘what is unfairness?’
Many people confuse unfairness with inequality. They are not the same thing. Inequality is good. Unfairness is bad.
