Great tutorial, Alex! Might be a good thing to let people know that some of the libraries in the bundle, like the Evolution Atlantica, are not compatible with the free version of Kontakt now that you're referencing it.

That distortion trick is so valuable! A while back I looked how to make that huge braam-ish Inception brass sound. I was stumped.
Then I found out the secret sauce: "It's just a trombone mate" I was like: "watcha saying?" and turns out, a low trombone note, run it through a rough distortion, the tiniest reverb and compress it. BAM! It's magical. Seriously magical. Been using distortion to make things sound huge ever since.

The trick does have it's downsides, like making sounds sound more lo-fi than you'd prefer, but just remember that you add drums and other instruments in too. Like the thing I was making, the huge brass stab thing, just added a drum as a layer and it already sounded like amazing.
