How to extend the trendline in Excel

How to extend or extrapolate the trendline in your Excel plot

Double click your trendline to bring up the options 'Format Trendline', from there you want to look for an option called 'Forecast', this will allow you to extend your trendline backwards or forwards

I was skeptical because of the like/dislike ration but it really worked

how do i set a period of less than one (0.1, 0)

The Forecast option does not work. Tried before this video which was too small too quick to follow. Trendline remains unchanged. I am using an Exponential line.

It just moved all of my plotted points closer to the origin
