In Excel you can add a trendline to your chart to show visual data trends. Learn how to add trendline formulas and equations in Excel in this video tutorial from Microsoft.

1. Select a chart.

2. Select the + to the top right of the chart.

3. Select Trendline.

Note: Excel displays the Trendline option only if you select a chart that has more than one data series without selecting a data series.

4. In the Add Trendline dialog box, select any data series options you want, and click OK.

If the plus button doesnt show you can right click your chart, select format select series "your title" and you will see a slider to add a trendline

I am using Office excel 365 from my institution and when i click my chart i am not presented with the option to add a chart element or a trendline, is there another way of going add in a trend line in office excel 365?

how come office 365 looks nothing like this? is there a "switch" i need to use? i am doing a school assignment and this looke NOTHING like the excel i was given via O365. am i just not seeing the option?
