This has to be done. Energy needs to be produced within the concept of production in-depth: Nuclear, Wind, Solar, Geothermal, Hydro, etc.

Terrapower has an interesting approach. I hope the same will happen for Thorium based reactors...

Nuclear waste can also be recycled to the point at which it may only be radioactive for around 200 years, which is entirely manageable from a storage and safety point of view.

I don’t like to agree with Gates but the US needs a lot more nuclear power plants. Maybe not this exact design but nuclear in general. The ones we have a extremely safe and reliable.

Sodium reactors have been around since the beginning. They were used in submarines in the 50s alongside the water reactors. Water reactors were selected for mass use because of weight savings, and the civilian industry just went along with using that design.

These "new" reactors have been around for over 50 years. Both the US and Soviets had these types of reactors in artic bases. They are finally releasing it to the people.

Well if this is an improvement in fission then bring it forth.

Molten salt reactors are the future. We need this 100x and we need it NOW

Anybody else remember hearing about molten salt reactors way back in like 2010? and now it's finally happening on a large scale. wild.

What about your connection with Jeffrey Epstein though?

Bill Gates should be explaining his relationship with Epstein before we start talking about tother things, Are you going to interview Prince Andrew and Bill Cosby about their thoughts on things today as well?

Comes online in 2030? Sure takes a long time to build a power plant like this. But I think this is the way to go for the future.

Thorium Reactors is what we should be building.

Irf they can get it to work with a thorium-232 based reactor, it could mean way less radioactive waste and what waste is generated has a half-life of around 350 years, meaning really cheap disposal (if the nuclear medicine industry doesn't grab it first!).

I have the same qualifications as a Nuclear physicist as Bill Gates. So 60 Minutes call my publicist to schedule an interview.
