A question I have is on CPU Threads, Are you doing anything to disable the dual threads per Core. So for the Ryzen 9 3900x it has 12 cores but 24 threads, are you doing something in the bios or Ubuntu? Or is this not necessary?

I have a software for orbital dynamics which unfortunately takes only single core for computation. I switched from i7-6700 to ryzen 3 4300g, and the total time dropped by 3 days, for a simulation and detection of 56000 objects. Rest of the peripherals and parameters were the same. Ryzen 3 had a stronger single core performance than i7.

Was this done with the public version of liggghts without the dynamic allocation of processor domains?

Thank you for your explanation.
I am doing research for my PHD project and I have a laptop with dual cores I4 2.5GHz to 2.70GHz with Geforce 920mx (compute capability 5.0).
Can I run simulation with particles?

On you AMD 3900X X570 Build, Did you turn on the Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P) to get the Full 3200 MHz memory speed?

A radeon rx 5700 xt could work for basic simulations?

Just out of curiosity, where would a RaspberryPi 4 stand in this competition?

Or whether it should be considered?

Would it be faster if you use a potent gpu? Is this even possible?

I think you meant speed in this context, instead of "velocity".
