I'm overwhelmed by all the kindness everyone has showed me and all the people praying for the situation. I went to Steven Anderson’s Facebook page. What I saw was him claiming his brother is “holding Miriam against his will” and that he “brainwashed Miriam” as well as him encouraging his followers to harass his brother. What I did not see however is one post hoping his daughter is safe, hoping his daughter is fed, hoping his daughter has a place to sleep, nothing. He seems more concerned about getting back at his brother than the well-being of his daughter.

All 3 of the children have nearly identical stories when describing their upbringings. Miriam chose sleeping in a ditch over going back with her father. How anyone can still defend that madman or think for a second that Isaac, John, and Miriam are lying is beyond me.

Almost as infuriating is how poorly the police handled this. They acted as if her potentially being beaten and murdered was just a matter of paperwork for them.

I remember her mom on her blog mentioning putting Miriam in cold showers as a child. I think she said her father recommended it, because she was a "willful" child. I think the entry has since been removed, but another bit of evidence that these kids are telling the truth.

Anyone that can go on a 90 minute rant about the abuse her father and mother inflicted upon her with almost no interruption has monsters for parents. I’m sure she has more stories too if she had time to write everything down and gather her thoughts. I hope you find peace and live a happy and healthy live, Miriam. Hi Mariam, I am a former ashamed follower of your dad, I stopped listening to him years before this all came to light. But I just want to tell you how sorry I am this happened to you. Despite your upbringing, it appears you are blossoming into an amazing young woman. You have a very bright future ahead of you. And its a tragedy your parents are missing out on a relationship with such a wonderful kid. Any sane parent would be SO proud of you.

I just want to say this to Miriam: It doesn't matter whether a child breaks a cup, sneaks extra snacks, stays out late, gets tattoos, hooks up with boys, or anything else. There is NEVER ANY EXCUSE OR RATIONALE for abusing a child either physically, emotionally or sexually. No excuse EVER. There is no need to defend your behaviour at all, or to explain that you're hardworking/chaste/Christian or living any kind of specific lifestyle. By virtue of being a human being, you are entitled to protection from your monstrous abusive parents, and there is NO excuse for their actions towards you and your siblings. Your father's behaviour is HIGHLY PREDICTIVE of the kind of abuser who ends up murdering his victim. Deep in your heart, you know this as well, or you wouldn't have been willing to lie in a ditch to escape him.

To summarize:

She went to a summer camp and made an offhand truthful comment about her mother that triggered a CPS investigation she requested not be made for fear of being violently physically assaulted- possibly killed- by her father in a fit of blind rage, based on her childhood experience of violence and rage in the home that all four adult children corroborate.

What in that scenario classifies her as morally reprehensible and disobedient?

She is having a completely appropriate reaction to the situation.

Give that Steven and Zsuzsanna Anderson have assaulted their children for far less offences than accidentally triggering a CPS investigation.
