It's not the AMOUNT of sugar that does the damage... it's the FREQUENCY that does.

I’m losing my enamel my teeth are turning clear and I have to get another extraction. I’ve lost like 10 of my teeth. (Mostly molars) and I’m 27. Don’t drink too much soda like I have.

Makes sense, if you are sipping with a lot of frequency you are basically reaplying a fresh coat of acid every few minutes that mess your teeth up. Now if you drink it in 1 go then it's only 1 coat and it's less damaging.

Bentist is so right. When I drink anything caffeinated I drink water with or after it. I never had a cavity a day in my life and I make sure to keep my hygiene up not only because of health issues but because I feel good. I have a Stanley but I don’t use it for water. I fill a big thermos full of ice water and when I run out I have ice and add more to keep cold

That was actually phenomenal advice. I have had notoriously bad dental care all my life save for like the past 5 years. Im 35, and rarely brushed... not a single visit to the dentist till wisdom teeth ruined everything. Only had a cavity in my one remaining baby tooth because that's when I drank nothing but soda.

I always drink water, brushed my teeth anytime something hurt (aka bleeding gums) and treat soda like a desert where I have water afterwards. Usually once a day at most, if any soda at all. No coffee.

Results? No issues with my teeth outside of some really badly placed wisdom teeth that were impossible to reach with a brush properly and had to be removed.

I'm trying to do better now but the past life style choices of a heavy soda diet and rare brushing of teeth fucked me. If I only brushed and adopted water as my main drink 25+ years ago I'd have been in a much better spot. But hey, people with better dental care than I did were still far worse off cause they live om on soda and caffeine can't just enjoy water.

This is a great reminder to stop consuming caffeine altogether. It's only getting you through the day because you're addicted! I don't consume it because it's bad for my heart (WPW) and neither should you.

Omg I'm so bad about this. I remember a dentist telling me about this a long time ago, but this video really put it into perspective.

I gave up soda almost 2 years ago .... and drink anywhere from half gallon to 1 gallon of water a day and occasionally drink an energy drink
