In this short video I am going to show you exactly why your water heater is leaking and how to fix it.

You'll Learn:
*Why your water heater is leaking.
* Can it be repaired or will it need to be replaced.
* How to stop the leak and get it fixed.
* Step 4 is a bonus that can save you $600-$1000. Your water heater might be under warranty. The manufactures sometime use codes to let us know what year your water heater was manufactured and if it is still covered under warranty. If it is you might be eligible for a FREE water heater. I’ll give you instructions on how to properly figure this out at the end of the video.

I just want to thank you for the information provided in this video. Our water heater was dripping water from the inside, so we follow your directions to find out about its warranty. The warranty site was easy to find and provided the information we needed. Luckily, our water heater had coverage for one more year (2022). We took it back to the store and got a brand new one. Because of your information, we saved $550!!! THANK YOU!!!

You just saved me a good nights rest by simply showing how to turn my valve off. No idea how much care a water boiler needed. Thanks for the amazing knowledge and peace of mind tonight.

Thank you for this video. My water heater was leaking from the bottom, but after I drain it and fill again in 2 days it is no leaking anymore. Can you explain why?

Actually this video saved me some face because I thought it was my AC unit and turns out there was a leak in the hose, so per the video, I was able to turn off the valve and the water. THAN, I learned how much a water heater would cost me and I'm very rural, and didn't realize home depot does the work as well. So I was able to learn I had a GAS Heater, get the information from the heater, stop my leaking and got a home depot call going. I could try some of these other tips, but i'm "that girl" and do not wish to mess with things like this. WOOT, new subscriber

I have a Rheem Marathon 75-gallon tank. The pressure release valve was leaking. I replaced the valve. I checked the water pressure on the water line- gauged at 90. The valve still leaks. I can relieve the pressure from a faucet and it stops or barely drips. What are your thoughts? Too hot? I so, how do you lower the temperature? Thanks, Roy

Very informative video! Thank you. I can tell if my water heater is repairable or needs to be replaced before the technician comes.

My water heater is Kenmore, bought from Sears 6 years ago. I guess my warranty is gone since Sears is bankrupt now. However, it is made by AO Smith. Does anyone know AO Smith may pick up the bill? Thanks.

Hi, my water heater is leaking from the bottom. I see rust in the water stream. I qualify for a free replacement but it's special order and going to take 2 weeks to arrive. Is there anything I can do to prolong the life while I wait? I turned the temp down a bit. I also cut the pan underneath to avoid excessive pooling at the base. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Mine has a pine size hole in the t&p valve that spraying water out. It's not the seal but the actual t&p metal pipe. So do I just replace it. I saw another video where he just fiddled with the flap and banged on it with a hammer and it removed the buildup and set back tight. Is this a possible solution?

In no way or shape can we afford a new hot water heater so I guess we’re gonna patch it. Flex tape or calk. We just can’t cough up 600 for a water heater we can’t even afford a plumber.
