Ive lived in Las Vegas for 43 years. Its turning into East Los Angeles. This was a great place to live in till about 2000. Now, with the influx of bad drivers from California, its time to leave.

I just moved from Vegas after living there for 8 years. Never going to move back. It wasn’t too bad when I first moved there but it seemed to change so quickly and not for the better. School district is one of the worst in the country. The crime is getting very bad and is filtering into even the nicer neighborhoods. Most people are rude. There is no sense of community. It’s not family/kid friendly. I’m much happier in my new state and in my new city.

If you like visiting the spectacular national parks of the American Southwest, Las Vegas is a great place to call home. You're within a half-day's drive to Zion, Bryce Canyon, either rim of the Grand Canyon and Death Valley. It's also within a half-day's drive to the beaches of southern California.

My favorite parts of the Vegas area are two wonderful parks just outside the city. On the western outskirts is Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, and the Valley of Fire State Park, which is 45 miles NE on I-15. Both are great for scenery and hiking, take plenty of water along to get you through those hot desert trails!

For someone who lived in Las Vegas (and plan to move back this year) you captured the good parts of Vegas that make it special. Way more than just casinos. I also loved to hear your story of how Vegas launched the channels success. I love your videos and wish you more continued success.

I used to live in Las Vegas. Now I live in Ocala, Florida. I am glad that we will always have drinking water here. I would be afraid to live in Las Vegas now that Lake Mead is in such a bad situation.

Good balanced video Briggs. We moved to Henderson in 2014 into the old part of the city. WAY too many people for the infrastructure to support. Traffic is a nightmare. Bums everywhere. Gas prices just behind California. Nope, we’re done!Moving soon to very rural Tennessee to retire. Keep producing content, it’s very informative and fun.

Born and raised and grandparents came here in 1938. It was great growing up in this town in my era. There was a sense of community and people looking out for each other. That all changed as all communities do as they grow. However, the traffic and crime is horrible due to everyone from other cities moving here. JS

Moved here in 2003 and hate this place so much! It is super expensive, water is being depleted at a rate no one could ever have imagined, but they keep passing out building permits like candy to builders that are ridiculously bad. School system sucks. Crime is up but hey you can drink 24 hours a day hopefully you won’t drive at the same but even footballers do that these days. In 2003 it WAS a decent place but it is a huge race to the bottom! Just remember: “Come on vacation - leave on probation”

I can't get out of Las Vegas soon enough. When we moved here in 1999 it was like Paradise. Start going downhill about 2010. Now we're fully Californicated. I see the writing on the Wall.

Even though I'm not fond of the place, it will always have a special spot in my heart. My son got in on the early 2000's housing boom, worked hard and saved a lot. When he couldn't do that anymore, he went to school and became a dealer. UNLV hospital gave him great care in the last years of his life, darn good care! Right up to the very end.

While not my favorite place by far, my son loved it, did well there, got married there (his widow still lives there), and got excellent medical care all the way to the "fullness of his life". I very well understand people who both do and don't like the area, but even just talking about it will always put a smile on my face.

My husband and I were going to move to Las Vegas from CA. Then we found out our car insurance would got from $135/month to $400/month. And our medical insurance would double in price. As retirees, Las Vegas is more expensive than the smaller town I live in on the Monterey Peninsula. So much for cheaper cost of living.

30 year Vegas veteran here, and boy has it changed since we first landed at McCarran Intl back in early 1992.
I'm not going to go into anything said, and everything Jimmy touched base on is pretty spot on.
The Metro area back then was just over 800, 000 and today we're 2, 231, 647.
...Jimmy did forgot to mention two notable facts. 1) That Vegas is home to the fifth largest school district in the nation, CCSD (Clark County School District), with a student population of some 325, 000 students across the 8, 000 square miles of Clark County. ...and 2) Clark County comprises of 73.55% of Nevada's population of 3, 034, 392. The other 16 counties combined only have a total population of 802, 745.

I’ve lived in Vegas for 5 years you cannot buy a livable house for under 300k and that is quickly escalating. The market is absolutely ridiculous.

Vegas is reluctant to report the deaths of people jumping off the roofs of the casinos.
People jumping off the Hoover Dam overpass. You don't hear anything about what's really going on in Vegas.
It's all Glitz and glamour. They try to make it look good but having lived here for thirty years you get to know the inside story that is never reported along with the casinos getting robbed
