If this didn't cost an arm and a leg I would've bought this in a heartbeat.

imagine an archive of something like let's say, tabletop miniatures online thanks to technology like this.
Decades of Miniature history, perfectly preserved in digital format, and via 3d printing a few clicks and printer calibration away from having an army from the 1990's lets say, indistinguishable once painted up.
*The future is bright.*

This would be great for printing things like bits. I always need more weapons, shoulderpads and jump packs.

well, it works better than i thought it would. but yeah, at 5-6k $, i think i'll wait about 10 more years for the consumer ones to come out. if i bought my printer for 200-300$, at most i'd spend 500 on this

I can imagine in 5 years time having scanners that are 1 to 1 perfect. You won't even need to own the scanner, some charitable soul will scan the warhammer models and share them online. Then people will be printing models that are impossible to know if they're 3d printed.

Could you scan all the components of a 1981-1985 Gen 1 and Gen 2 Schaper stomper? (Chasis, axle gears, battery and motor cover and worm drive gears? or are the gears to small?

I'm curious if the "less sharp" issue is the fault of the scanner or the printer. I've got a Phrozen Sonic mini 8k. I'm considering buying this scanner, it would be interesting to see the comparison there. Where did you purchase from?

Ah nice, and all this for the small sum of 4900 USD... Jokes aside, the machine obviously does a great job, but I fear I can't afford this one for now. Good review tho. I would've bought the scanner if I had a spare kidney to sell.

The archivist in me really want's one for a project I am working on, but I can't justify the cost for now.
