My favourite power move is that humans under pressure to do things can procrastinate entire days by watching videos on youtube

It's like a watchmojo video, but informative.
And interesting.
And with personality.

This video was my introduction to vlogbrothers. And now it seems I've returned to watch it as the 10 millionth view.

Where's the Mantis Shrimp? Punching so fast that the water around its claws boil and creates minute specs of light is by far the most awesome superpower. Did you also know that it has the most insane supervision known to any species?

Two creatures that deserve to be on this list: first, the Mantis Shrimp which, depending on the kind throws out its hunting spikes or swings its hammer fists at the speed of a 22cal. bullet, boiling the water in front of it and creating vacuum bubbles which collapse and kill prey with a sonic shock wave. Not to mention having the most sophisticated eyes yet discovered in nature.
Next, the Grasshopper Mouse. A voracious hunter, they are on a very short list (along with ferrets and humans) of things that kill for pleasure and not just to eat. When they kill, they rear up and raise their front paws and scream "REDWAAALL".
I thought that was awesome, but then I learned their main prey is scorpions.
That's right. A mouse that hunts scorpions. It can do this because of its power move: when stung by a scorpion, the body of the Grasshopper Mouse converts the poison into a painkiller. Power move.

I've been very impressed with domesticated platypi's ability to find alternative uses of electro-location. For example, I noticed a particular pet platypus figure out when his owners are about to be otherwise distracted, at which point, it magically disappears near a garbage can or unwatched portion of the house, only to reappear when the distraction disappears.
I think he uses his alone time to pretend he's people because he often disappears and reappears wearing a small fedora....

Yes, YouTube algorithm. This 9 years old video is exactly what I need to watch right now.

how about the mantis shrimp, the one that can punch with a force of a 22 caliber bullet, and so fast that it creates a vacuum between it and its prey

THIS IS THE VIDEO THAT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER.
"But Nicole, " You ask, "How can a video about animal power moves be life changing? I get that they're interesting, especially the kamikaze ants but--"
No.

See, this video was the first Vlogbrothers video I ever watched. THIS IS HOW I GOT INTO NERDFIGHTERIA. One year later and I'm a full fledged Nerdfighter, subscibed to all of John and Hank's channels, reading John's books, listening to Hank's music, and (best part)- I MADE FRIENDS!! Who would've thunk, there are Nerdfighters at my school AND NOW IM ONE OF THEM. When you're friendless enough to be on the "Baby Potato Bugs and Their Toxic Poop" side of the internet on a friday night, you need friends fast. A few videos later and "Hey I once saw somebody with a Vlogbrothers tee shirt. I'll try to talk to them." then RAINBOWS AND FRIENDSHIP AND YAY.

Thank you John Green, for forever changing my life with a video about giraffes going all Chuck Norris and motionless turtles, for this video was the gateway to a Utopian land of Nerdfightasticness.

sounds like a trailer for an excellent movie. "John had it all. the wife, the great job and an extra kick in his step. until John met Steve, who began to ruin everything that John took for granted. Fortunately, John has poisonous poop"

the mantis shrimp has two large mandibles that it can extend so fast it creates a flash of light that boils the water around it and creates bubbles that, when they collapse, create a shockwave that can shatter aquarium glass. oh, and they kill everything that moves
