Why I don't wear my hair down #shorts

I live right on the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico. Wash and goes are a must for me. The wild wind, the humidity, and the hot sun, no style has ever lasted beyond 3 days. The sweat makes my roots look greasey. The wind tangles my curls and pulls then apart. The humidity does what it does and poofs it up and out. As a fellow Texas Woman. I understand your hair struggles.

Yes! I feel this way in certain seasons in the northeast. I can spend all kinds of time on my curls and the wind just whips them into a frizz.

It's always windy and cold where I live. My hair starts out nice but is a frizz ball later.

That is no joke! I grew up in the Lubbock area (❤️🖤👆👆) and I can attest to the crazy wind. I live south of Austin now where the Hill Country to our north and west acts as a giant wind break for us. It's A LOT more humid here but I'll take it! 😂

I live in London, Ontario (& from the NS Maritimes) with natural frizz ball head fighting my frizz & curls most of my life! The lakes HERE (minus salt air, lol) makes its windy/blowy 95% of the time! 😑🥴

This is why I quit wearing my hair as just my natural curls. I have 3a/3b curls (that look like an 80s perm on a good day.😳) and we get some form of wind every day in Northern Nevada. If I went out of the house my hair was wrecked in minutes. I use magnetic rollers on my hair now, to soften my curls, and they hold up a little better in windy conditions. 😄 (And I love my curl pattern now! 😊)

But one thing I’ve been noticing lately when I’m out and about: the majority of women with long hair put it up in a pony tail/bun when going out. My son jokes that it makes no sense, we grow our hair long just to put it up so it looks short. 😂 He’s not wrong. 😂

My hair is fine and it gets in my face and tangles super easily. I get it!

I am feeling you. I had my wash day today, went outside and the wind was blowing! I hid my hair in the hood... ugh

I live in texas too and work as a nurse driving from house to house. I’m trying to figure out how to wash & style my hair during the week to put it up because that’s what I prefer. What pre-poo do you do for it when you wear it up?

Personally I think wind blown wavy hair is gorgeous, but I understand not wanting to detangle the mess afterwards. 😜

Girl, we totally understand. We get it. The only time the hair comes down is if I’m going on date night with my husband or…well I guess that’s it 😂
