Why skaters don’t wear helmets

Someone commented on how I always wear a helmet, which inspired me to make this video. They gave me props for wearing one, then said they wish they had the courage to wear one too. My message with this video is: you do you; wear a helmet if you want to, or don't wear a helmet if you don't want to. But don't let the stigma of "helmets aren't cool" be the thing that prevents you from wearing a helmet, if you already wanted though.

Honestly, if anyone ever judges you for wearing a helmet, they are not the type of people you should worry about appealing to. Wear a helmet if you want. Don’t wear one if you don’t.

My grandpa got me a helmet when I started skating, he told me if he ever saw me skating without one he would saw my board in half lmaoo

I ride bmx and skateboard occasionally. I’ve had friends break their skulls open and become paralyzed all because they felt confident without a helmet. Please wear a helmet.

I always wear one. As somebody who survived a major head injury a year and a half ago from just being in the car with someone driving down the road, I'd much rather wear a helmet and be deemed dorky by people who have nothing better to do with their lives as opposed to survive through something like that ever again.

I only don't wear a helmet when I'm just cruising around. But when I'm skating flat ground and transition, it's a must for me.

So i was at the park once, and there was this 30 year old dude there all by himself, he was fully padded up, he saw me struggling with axel stalls on quaterpipes and i stg he gave me the perfect advice and i landed it next try, like i didnt even have to ask him. Great dude, great community
