Out of My Mind Movie Interview: Phoebe-Rae Taylor Made the Seasoned Cast Better Actors

The cast of Out of My Mind is stacked with wildly talented veteran actors, but it’s led by a complete newcomer, someone getting her very first acting credit with the film. It’s Phoebe-Rae Taylor, and she’s an absolute natural.

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, Out of My Mind focuses on 6th grader, Melody Brooks (Taylor). She’s an incredibly bright 12 year-old who loves fashion and watching Friends, but can’t reach her full potential due to the assumptions made about her by others. Melody has cerebral palsy, is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair. Due to her lack of verbal communication ability and presumed limited intellect, Melody attends school in a classroom for students with disabilities. However, when Katherine (Courtney Taylor), a postdoctoral candidate in education, meets Melody and immediately recognizes her lust for learning and limitless potential in general, she encourages Melody’s family and the school administration to have her join the mainstream 6th grade classroom.

The fact that this movie is being made makes my heart burst with joy for all the young girls like me who get to discover this absolutely fantastic story and a role model in Phoebe Ray Taylor. This was my favorite book in elementary school, I can't wait to see this movie. I've been re-listening to it to jog my memory a bit better it comes out and my hyperfixation with this story is coming back strong oh lord 🤣🖤

I loved this film, just as a film; it's wonderful, and Phoebe is so good! Wonderful cast overall. And, I also loved this film as a person with a disability myself, and as an educator of students with disabilites, because of the heartfelt, realistic story.

And so so glad the film makes actually asked and had in the film a wonderful actress like Phoebe-rae, wonderful, cant wait to see the film. The woman that is interviewing the actors for this movie talks normally to most of them, but when she talks to Phoebe-Rae, she slows down her speech as if Phoebe-Rae cannot understand her.

That is COMPLETELY NOT FAIR TO ATTACK the interviewer over her slower speech questions it is a very delicate subject matter who is a REAL HUMAN BEING AND A GIRL who happens to be AN ACTOR WITH REAL DISABILITIES People need to stop throwing their arms in the air and act like life is rose colored glasses with disabilities and no disabilities and be offended by every little thing in life get over over self ❤️ By the way after just watching the trailer I think the GIRL deserves BEST ACTRESS at this years OSCARS reminds me of Renee ZEllwiger in Judy from just watching the trailer for that film and I predicted she would win the Oscar for that role and she did ❤ I got that feeling from watching the GIRL from the trailer completely alone also ❤️❤️❤️❤️
