This was the card everyone was dreaming about, but was scared to have at the same time.

Lemme explain. 690 was a successor to 590, on new 1st gen Kepler architecture, the performance improvement was big. Nvidia presented PhysX, but no card could really process it on their own, like PT now. So Nvidia started pushing SLI into the masses, you use one gpu to process the graphics, and the other to primarily focus on PhysX. Everyone was curious to play Crysis 3 on this. But, unlike 680 and the rest of the lineup, 690s were dying like flies, much like their notoriously unreliable Fermi predecessors.

In 2022 I got a pc with an r9 270, it was painful. I used till October 2023. The Rx 580 was so good I thought that I'd struck gold.
Then last November I got a 6700 10gb, 1440p monitor, and I'm content again.

I was playing on uhd 620, than I built my own pc in 2023 with a gtx 660 ti, and the upgrade felt so powerful. Everyone was saying my pc was trash, but I was happy with it. Now for a couple of months I have a gtx 780 ti and people are still saying it’s old and trash😂
