Показать описание
Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich appeared in good health at a hearing at Moscow City Court on Tuesday, April 18, more than two weeks after his arrest in March. Pictures posted by SOTA show Gershkovich smiling through the glass of a holding cell in the court. US Ambassador Lynne Tracy was also present at the court for the hearing, the photos show. Lynne had been granted access to Gershkovich on Monday and said he was in “good health” after the visit. Russian news agency Ria Novosti reported that the court was “considering a defense complaint against the arrest of US journalist Evan Gershkovich.” Gershkovich was arrested and accused of espionage on March 30, while reporting in Yekaterinburg. The US has strongly condemned the arrest of Gershkovich, with Secretary of State Antony Blinken classifying the journalist as wrongfully detained. Credit: SOTA via Storyful
