Super glad to hear that man. I lost my father to a brain injury from a concussion 5 years ago. He was in perfect shape but the injury affected his frontal cortex and over the period of a few weeks he became a different person and the equivalent of a severe Alzheimer's case. He was hospitalized right after the accident and he stayed alive for 4 months but his physical shape slowly degraded since he refused to eat. Every single day in his mind he just arrived at the hospital and was going to eat 'a little later' until he eventually died of undernourishment. He had a clause in his will not to persevere with treatment and force feeding was interpreted like that... So yes, take care of your head people, it is more fragile than you think and if you loose the ability to make decisions, someone else will make them for you...

My gf got a double concussion and has had to deal with all these issues. It’s super scary. Modern healthcare is surprisingly inept at diagnosing and treating all post concussion effects. It’s independent centers like this that I found really actually helped. Glad to hear you’re recovering. If only I was in Colorado I’d help production in a heartbeat!

From someone with multiple sclerosis, I can fully sympathize with your brain fog description. I'm happy to see you getting better. Take care.

I'm surprised someone like the Discovery Channel doesn't want to pick you up?
You are obviously a great host, and you come up with amazing ideas.
You need to contact some of the English tv channels, the BBC is always interested in science programs. I would also suggest a weekly/bi weekly podcast talking about engineering/science, if you think you could do that, the knowledge you have for a call-in type show would be great to listen to while walking the dog.
Fantastic to see you are back to making videos, and I look forward to throwing my 'like' to them as soon as you post.

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT and timely for me. Well, not for me, but for my 88 year old Mom. Yesterday, she fell outside and hit her head HARD. Same place as you. She thinks it's "no big deal, " but your video tells me otherwise. Because you posted this, I am going to keep a sharp watch on her (several states away from me) to monitor how she's doing. THANK YOU for posting this. You have no idea how important this information is for us right now. * does deep Japanese-style bow *

10:35 I had that too. My brain was my biggest power. I didn't have any accidents or anything but since I had some sort of depression, my ability to really think about something complex for more than 10 minutes is almost impossible now. I have no idea how this came about and what is the actual cause. I used to tackle complex problems in no time and found it easy. Now, the most simple jobs are too difficult for me for some reason. Our brain is something we probably will never understand. One day you can do whatever you want with it, the other day it's your greatest bottleneck.

Scotty - your story underscores the need to fund research into the human brain. Your story is inspiring and uplifting, and I am so glad to hear you are doing better. I missed your content, as I'm sure others did as well. You are an inspiration to people, keep up the great work!

I'm glad you're doing better - and really happy you're speaking out about this! Especially the bad advice you got, that most of us probably still get...

So glad you're doing better man! I got a concussion my first week or my junior year of Electrical engineering and failed a bunch of classes because of it. It was so hard and I had headaches and anxiety for months. It means so much to me to see people recover from their brain injuries. Even though they might be invisible to everyone else, they are so real and are still so important.

From someone that has a stroke at 30 and had brain damage in my cerebellum and that brain fog you said was how i felt. It was so hard to make it through the day. I spent the whole day trying to act normal and by the end of the day i was drained. It was so hard to explain the issue to people. Glad you have somewhat come through this and wish you all the good things you deserve.

I’m so happy to hear you’re doing so much better. Health issues are EXHAUSTING. When I got COVID I couldn’t read an entire paragraph out loud without having tons of issues, and it freaked me out. So glad it’s not an issue anymore.

That clinic is so amazing to hear about. I’m so glad they reached out to you! One thing is for sure, your ability to tell and amazing story is totally there. So, so good. Happy for you, friend!

Dang, man. This was a great story, thank you for telling us all about your experience. I work in the physical therapy and musculoskeletal treatment space as a software engineer, and hearing our patients sign praises of being able to get back to an active and involved lifestyle keeps me waking up in the morning. So many people suffer from injuries that have treatments, but they have never been told or given access to these treatments. Hearing stories like yours can really give people hope, and that counts for a lot when you are healing from *any* injury.

Thank you again, I will be sharing your story at work next week.
