This Lip Sync Challenge has inspired us to celebrate this great state and the people we serve. It was a tough decision, and since California is the shining star of so many wonderful songs, we couldn’t pick just one. We appreciate the volunteers throughout the state who participated in the making of this video.

The CHP is always classy! Years ago my Dad was driving back to San Diego from the SF/Bayarea, he was very sleepy and started swerving a little. A CHP officer pulled him over, and before jumping to any conclusions that he was drunk or under any kind of influence, the CHP officer first asked him if he was OK. My Dad was honest with him, told him he was feeling very sleepy. The officer than proceeded to tell my Dad to drive to the nearest freeway exit, find a parking lot where he could rest/take a nap. The officer escorted him and parked his patrol car next to his. After a 2 hour nap, my Dad woke up refreshed and was ready to get back on the highway... the CHP officer never left him, he was there making sure he got the rest he needed. My Dad thanked him and went on his way... that really kind gesture by the CHP officer might've saved his life cos driving while sleepy is just as dangerous! Thanks CHP!!!

I never forget my own experience with CHP. 3 yrs ago after receiving news of my Dad’s passing, I drove 90 mph tried to make it to the hospital to see my Mom, and was stopped by a CHP. He was calmly asked if I was ok, then I started to get hysterical, trying to explain my situation to him, them he said “you need to be strong for you Mom…” and was patiently stood there while I cried my eyes out, then asked where I was heading to, which is still 15 mins away. He escorted me all the way to the hospital, and told me again “be strong”, literally. I used to be terrified of CHP, but this CHP officer changed my mind ❤️! Thank you for your service.

I still remember being stranded on a narrow fast lane shoulder of 580 years ago with a flat tire, absolutely terrified someone would hit me before triple AAA was going to come and CHP pulled up, called for a tow truck to help me (for free) and helped me get back on the road. Thanks CHP, and this is the best lip sync video I've seen!

I wish I could go back in time, and make some choices differently. Right out of highschool, I was on track to become a chp. I was involved in a car accident and it changed everything... thanks for all you guys do God bless. Maybe in the next life.
