So happy to get my hands on one of these! As an experimental electronic artist, I’m so happy to be able to capture and control my recordings with perfect quality for post-processing! This recorder (and audio interface (and multitrack (and so much more))) is a brilliant tool, and I’d recommend it to any audio nerd!

In the field app, is it possible to record individual tracks in MP3 format and export them from the SD card? I can do this for WAV format. However, when I set the format to MP3 all inputs get mixed to one stereo track and I cannot see the individual tracks.

I'm having trouble copying files from the SD card of my Zoom H8. All the files have the same name, such as Mic12, but are organized into different folders, like F240714_008.zprj. Is this how it's supposed to be, or is there a setting to have each WAV file named differently according to the folder, similar to the Zoom H6?

Hello, I'm writing from Turkey. I bought a Zoom H8, but do I need to use only the SD card to transfer the audio from it to a computer? Can't I directly transfer the audio from the device to a computer with a cable?"

I simply can NOT find anywhere how to change how it "names" these files. Very unhappy with this. EVERYTHING is named Tr1.WAV - how the heck am I supposed to know which file correlates to the main file name?

To record Foley, Do you need to record to a shotgun mic ? Or can you use the default stereo mic that comes with h8?
