I like how not only does it protect the tree from infections but can be used for humans for the same purpose.
Nature is so cool.

Dad and my uncle always taught me to keep tree resin. We use to go camping and fly fish in NC and it was perfect to start fires. The perfect product to keep on hand when camping🔥🌲🏞️🛶

I live off the grid, and I'm currently filling up my wood shed for winter. I've "collected buckets of pitch because it's such a great fire started. AND AN ADDED BENEFIT: Surprisingly, I've discovered that pitch all over my gloves lengthens the lives of those gloves! Wearing has to work through the pitch before it can touch the leather! :D

My father said when he was young, he would chew it like gum. This was on our Navajo reservation in AZ. Resin has many uses.

In very high traffic trails I find it tends to be plentiful on the trail itself, since the exposed roots are damaged by so many footsteps they’re constantly producing resin.

Hand sanitizer works great to remove the sap that gets everywhere you don't want it to be!

Thank you, you just taught me one thing that I didn't know. I didn't know that resien could be used as first aid for a cut . I did know about everything else but first aid will be useful to know and keep in mind for the future

Great video. As kids we used to chase our dad in the bush fishing/hunting and he would use spruce sap to close cuts and to cover scrapes. The spruce tree would have small bladders of sap which dad would peel off and put in a bag for future use.
