STUCK ON A GREEK ISLAND! (This Was A Mistake) #VANLIFE

OUR FIRST TIME GETTING STUCK!! The sandy beach park up was too good to be true, driving onto it was definitely a mistake. This was a very stressful experience, where things go from bad to worse. Thankfully the kindness of other van lifers come to our rescue. Thanks to @Vantasticoutdoorlife for getting us out of the sand like absolute legends! The Peloponnese region, is technically mainland Greece, but island like where it is only connected by two small points, and it is absolutely incredible!

Then we head to Polylimnio Waterfall, then off to the coastal town of Pylos and finish off the week meeting some other UK Vanlifers on Voidkilia Beach. Greece has absolutely stolen our hearts, we are so sad to be leaving so soon!

We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But now we are back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and have now made our way to Japan. We are starting a Japanese road trip and excited to bring you all along.

👍 Philly, pancake flippin! My favorite pancakes batter Swedish thin crepes with lots blueberries 🫐 in it. Top with blueberries soaked in Maple 🍁 Syrup. YUM 😋. Ah, more purrfect kitties 😸 you find in Greece. BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL hike, and beaches.

Love it love it love it 🥰 Brings back wonderful memories, we took our old Bedford CI Motorhome down to Greece, through the then Yugoslavia in I think 1986/7 with our two young sons and made such memories, it was awesome then and I’m reliving it all again with you. Thank you so much 🙏🏻 🥰

Hey guys! Get a set of recovery boards - MaxxTraxx or similar (there’s other options), a spade and a 9M recovery strap with 2 x soft shackles. This will save embarrassment in the future. Also consider all terrain tyres. Airing down your tyres before you got dig in, might have saved you, but you’d need to be able to reinflate afterwards - 12v air compressors are cheap enough. Recovery boards would have allowed to to bridge and cross that washed out road section - though walking is a better option, if you can.

I think you need a van cat. The cap of your vanilla is about a teaspoon. The calmer you are around bees and wasps, the less likely you are to be stung.

Greece is sooo beautiful! Philly I thought the same as you at the beginning that if the van backed up it would have crushed Keely’s foot! The mother part of me was screaming inside!
