The easiest way to kill the reaper in Vampire Survivors (Updated for Version 1.0)

TLDW:

1) Collect the yellow sign (Secret artifact in Moongolow)
2) Select any character
3) Pick Lancet + Laurel and get them to max level
4) Pick up the Metaglios / Rings on any map and level them to level 9
5) Collect a chest to evolve either lancet or laurel
6) Kill the Reaper
7) ?????
8) Profit!

I saw some of the earlier strategies and was dreading even giving them a try, but by the time I got around to being reaper-ready, these new evolutions showed up and I got my kill!

I followed your older guide, but kept dying around 27 mins so I decided to say F it and just did the same start but leveled up anyways, went to the same place and got the reaper stuck. I also used Shroud, finally unlocked him!

If you want to get more levels, get more curse, wicked season arcana in particular. And Crimson shroud is massively better than infinite corridor for this, to do it with corridor only you need to keep him frozen so he doesnt splat you.

Thanks for this. What's missing though is that you either have to last 31 minutes and survive the reaper for a minute or kill the reaper to unlock the arcana that attracts all items in the map to you. So a strategy to either get there or an example of a good map on which to walk and gather the stuff by walking while killing enough and leveling would be very appreciated.

i can confirm this is the best and most reliable and consistent way to do it, yes, it has some pre-requisites of unlocks you have to get first but it's honestly better than the nightmare of the "old school" way of doing it which involved you going AFK for 30 minutes in a very specific spot just to be able to attempt it, if you messed it up you had to wait for another 30 minutes in another run.
Just do this method shown in the video and ignore all the old videos about it as they are severely outdated, if you don't have the required unlocks, just go get those first, the other method is really not worth your time, there's other ways to do it but for those you need even more unlocks most likely.

I killed the reaper guideless, but I had around 5 on the screen by the end, I only had the laurel evolved, and I only survived because the 'pull' arcana kept bringing chickens/clocks to me.
You made it look way easier 😭 Admittedly, I only skimmed through this video.

Thanks to this, had a bit of trouble collecting the rings and the metaglios as they were on opposite sides compared to yours which they were all on the same area. On hyper mode I had to get the ones on the right by the 12 minute mark and get the ones on the left side by the 25 minute mark and save some chests to upgrade them.

Can confirm this still works as of today. Used Gallo on Library with max curse, hyper/hurry/arcana on. Had max laurel, lancet, infinite corridor, crimson shroud, king bible, bone, santa water and some other stuff. Awake arcana saved me multiple times at the start.

Yeah, I figured I could kill him using this method, I'm pretty sure the dev added this just to make killing the reaper more acessible for the general audience. I'm thankful because other methods were either way too dependant on rng, or I'd need to play very specifically, wasn't very fun.

I managed to defeat The Reaper early with a combination of La Borra, Magic Wand, and Laurel. Seems like if you enough damage sources Reaper is stun locked for a few seconds, long enough to recharge Laurel. Reaper will attack you, Laurel procs, but then will stop again.

How did you get the rings and metaglios to appear in one section of the map instead of these separated on both ends of the map?

Does anyone else have issues actually *getting* to the Rings and Metaglios? I need to have upgraded wings to even have a chance at reaching everything with how spread out they are. Upgrading everything before the 30-minute mark also seems undoable by the time I've collected everything.

Very helpful I was able to unlock infinite corridor and max lvl but unevolved laurel together and I was able to kill 2 reapers before dying.
