2024 Porsche Cayenne Review: Spicy Enough for Hot Ones

Показать описание
The heavily refreshed 2024 Porsche Cayenne adds an interior layout borrowed from the Taycan EV, suspension upgrades, revised sheet metal and more power across the lineup. Road Test Editor Brian Normile traveled to Los Angeles to get behind the wheel of a 2024 Cayenne S Coupe, now with a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine in place of a twin-turbocharged V-6.
The six-figure SUV impressed with its near sports-car handling prowess, brilliant eight-speed automatic transmission, steady body control and modern interior that doesn’t mistake technology for luxury. Then again, those are mostly things any six-figure SUV — and all things a six-figure Porsche SUV — should do well.
Hear Brian overuse “very” because speaking contemporaneously is difficult at any time, but especially when a 5,000-pound SUV is accurately imitating a sports car. Be amazed that a person who longs for station wagons is actually pleased to get behind the wheel of a coupe SUV that is both more expensive and less practical than its traditional SUV sibling. Win $5 from Brian if you’re the first person to spot the E9 BMW that makes a cameo appearance. And stay tuned for more details about the new Cayenne, including fuel economy and all-electric range for the upgraded plug-in hybrid E-Hybrid and its larger battery pack.
You may not be able to afford a $150,000-plus SUV, but if you can, you should seriously consider the 2024 Cayenne S. If you can’t, you can always daydream about buying one — after you use Porsche’s configurator to build yours exactly how you want it.
