ironically, this is actually pretty extravagant for a dutch school kid lunch. It's normally just bread with butter and cheese. sometimes ham, but not cheese and ham, that would be too much.

As a dutch person usually lunches arent this much its just some bread with some cheese or meat thrown on it(sometimes peanut butter) and usually an apple or the lucky kids get a cookie

As a Dutch person, all i ate growing up was sprinkles sandwiches (hagelslag) and pig liver paste (leverpastej) sandwiches

As a Dutch person myself I can say most of the time we have a ‘tien uurtje’ were we have fruit and a drink or a little snack with a drink, and later on the day we have lunch ‘lunch ‘ and it’s mostly brown bread with something on it or white bread (nearly never) with something on it and both have a drink by it. But when it’s carnaval there is ‘carnaval brood’ it’s a bread that is 3 colors and it is really sweet but you can get it only when it carnival by us the bread stays for a week.

Brown bread with peanut butter, brown bread with margarine and Gouda cheese, brown bread with cold cuts. Maybe an apple, but that’s about it. That is your typical Dutch lunch we brought to school.

As a person living in the netherlands i gotta say it's way to extravagant, the average dutch kid has in the first break apple slices and second break a sandwich or two with (one) cheese and maybe some ham. (if your lucky hagelslag. but i like your attempt

As a Dutch kid myself, our school lunch is just most likely a piece of bread with cheese, i always bring bread with peanut butter or bread with "ardenner ham" but yeah we are simple :)

When I saw this I was like oooh nooo it’s the Netherlands isn’t it? so that proves you did a good job. I actually like cooking and a plain cheese sandwich everyday makes me depressed, so I pack myself nicer lunches, but for most people it is something like this, except eggs are for the weekend.

Basically we put on our bread whatever we like, Nutella is always a good one, peanut butter, ham, cheese, salami, fruit, like an apple, pear or banana. I usually had at least 3 sandwiches with me, sometimes 4

My mom was a good cook and half dutch half indonesian. So I grew up with less efficiency and more love for food in our home. My mom made sandwhiches with smoked salmon and creamcheese and sandwhiches gezond (cheese, ham, egg, cucumber, tomato). Only for special occasions though, but still very nice and luxurious for a dutch kid.
