I'm indian and have never seen a school meal that comes even close to this. Too generous.

I'd say most schools don't really provide meals, we just bring our own.

The meal is actually supposed to be like this but unfortunately due to rampant corruption and mismanagement for years, students rarely receive nutritious meals and instead rely on cheap food with little to no nutrition. Also, the majority of students eat homemade meals.

As an Indian this meal is like eating burger, pizza, ranch, tacos all from the same meal 😅

As an Indian, my experience was of a kind of buffet canteen system where you basically have a ‘veg line’ and a ‘non-veg line’. You stand in line with your plate and are served rice/roti (bread), daal (lentils), another veggie dish/chicken dish, dessert. It was VERY cool and we got a new meal practically daily. Also it was actually something students could opt into rather than being compulsory. A melting-pot of diversity = people having social or religious restrictions. So obviously there were some who opted to just get their own shit to eat lol.

Most of the indian schools dont get this type of meal, mostly the govt schools serve khichidi( different types of vegetables mixed with rice and dal) with mango achar.

As an Indian I've never seen such food being served and jokes on you I take my lunch to school only some school provide "mid day meals"

To Indians saying that "We have never seen free meal in school", my brothers, the 'free meal' is only given in government schools and mostly in rural areas. NO FREE MEAL IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS.

In India, it's the government school that provides everyday meals. In the private or semi government ones, the students carry homemade food or can buy something from the school's canteen.

This is what my parents used to call special food because normal food was no where as generous

I used to study in a govt. School and the midday meal doesn't look like this at all. The meals provided at the schools in my area (Chandigarh) usually consist of rice and pulses. Rice were surved everyday with different pulses. The food they served was tasty and could keep a child full for 2-3 hours and about the nutrition, the pulses they used were mostly high in protein.
