Hey everyone I just rewatched this video and realized I made a huge mistake! These ARE NOT the 2nd generation pods. Xfinity sent me the 1st generation pods. The 2nd gen pods have venting around the body, it is also compatible with faster WiFi speeds and has two ethernet ports on the bottom. I’m getting these swapped out for the newer ones. Thanks for watching

PODS are not intended to INCREASE bandwidth, they are intended to EXTEND bandwidth. Most people get WORSE signals with the pods than without. They are more for decks, garages or areas that have almost no signal and get a little more. By spreading out the signal to multiple pods, it will decrease overall bandwidth.

That router is in the worst place a router can be at, between a concrete wall and a TV. That's killing your wifi speeds big time.

Hey not sure when you got these but if you got them recently you might want to consider trying to exchange them for the new xfi pods version which has increased range and 500mbps max throughput. (The new ones have two ethernet ports on the bottom)

Did I see your garage outlet GFCI was tripped? Looking at mine they're green when the circuit is not broken. Yours was red. I may have different outlets though... also I'll look for an update! Thanks for the vid!

I have a single 2nd gen one, is it fine to use it for the LAN port at the bottom for an ethernet connection to a PC I have upstairs, or am I better off just having it on standard Wifi (router is downstairs)?

Is the ping and latency the same as if i go wired with Xfinity modem? Or is it the same? I know the download speeds are a little lower like by 40-50 mbps with the pods (gen 2) and i noticed sometimes i can't get an app running smooth with these ... currently wired with ps5 but I feel like there's a little lag

Well, I’ve already ordered these things. How do you use the hardwire in them?

How well will they work if you plug it in about 50 feet away outside in your garage

Can a Google Mesh system be combined with xFi pods in the same network, or do they need to be set up as two different WiFi networks?

Why in the world would you keep a router behind a warm TV. Enclosed. You we losing so much signal for the house. You probably didn’t even need the pods.

I’m getting one just so I can use Ethernet with my computer because my wifi adapter always disconnects mid game.

They definitely work. I hooked up my Xbox to it and definitely got higher speeds because of it

Mesh networks suck. Getting one deployed that actually works is a pain. Each repeater cuts bandwidth in half. If another repeats that it's cut again. Client devices get confused and don't connect to the fastest but only the strongest. Best way to fix all this, pull Cat5e and just run AP's in each area. Ubiquit is the best for this.

I’m having trouble getting good connection to my ring doorbell outside. Will something like work to get the signal outside?

Are they on the same WiFi name or is it like a separate antenna

you kinda showed your ip address when you ran the speed test, not sure if thats a concern to you...

You saved me $119. We're getting 200Mbs upstairs and looks the xfi pod won't increase that.
