It takes a lot of guts to put it out there to the public for all to see. There will always be critics especially in aviation. You are a fine pilot and I appreciate your videos because they show an enthusiasm for flying and a fresh, honest perspective. Keep it up!

Hey Niko. Airline pilot here! For what it is worth I think you did a fantastic job. It is always better to air on the side of caution than to put yourself at greater risk than necessary. I started my initial training in a SR20 when I was in college and those airplanes had over 3000 hours on them when I was there. It was not uncommon for them to have small engine issues like this one. You handled yourself like a professional and you got your family down safely. Keep doing what you are doing. By the looks of it you are a very safe pilot and my hat is off to the CFI(s) who trained you. They did a great job instilling a lot of good habits.

All the best, Zach.

p.s. if your daughter ever has issues getting her ears to clear try teaching her the valsalva maneuver. That may help a lot on those long trips at high altitude.

Imagine if that fuel injector got fully clogged and the engine dying over the ocean with your family onboard.
Wise decision to abort and return and take 0 risk. Good for you it was a quick fix.
Enjoy your video's

I'm new to your site. This is a few days after the famous helicopter crash and proof that you did not fall into the trap of GET-THERE-ITIS like so many pilots do, and pay the price. Hats off to you sir!

The clogged injector makes perfect sense to why you needed the backup pump to keep the engine running

Glad a clogged fuel injector is all that was wrong. Love the "Jerry Springer" reference LOL!!! That's spot on, especially with some of these you tube enthusiasts. Happy trails and blue skies to ya.

Special shout out to a take-off emergency briefing done like a pro! You are living the Good Pilot Mantra!

Clogged fuel injector, once cleared you ask yourself why the injector was clogged. You could go as far as drain the onboard fuel and filter it and refuel, would recommend changing fuel filter and plugs as a precaution. Taking positive measures to prevent a reoccurrence of the problem is just good sense. If nothing else, it puts your mind at ease. Great video coverage.

This is my first time watching your channel and I did see the "Emergency" video first when you said "Hit the link below." That was amazing. You kept your cool even with your little girl crying in the background. Poor thing. You're an ACE! Thanks for sharing your experience as it helps us to learn from each other. Look forward to your other vids. I'm subscribing.

Well done sir. You noticed something off and decided it was too risky. You handled this situation flawlessly. Great job. Makes me want to get my license.

I'm glad it wasn't something more serious. Good call turning back and addressing the problem rather than getting out over the ocean with an unknown issue!

I totally agree with the being nice part. Take care of yourself, Niko. And your Cirrus, too, and it will take care of you.

Glad the problem appears to require only a simple fix. Excellent work with the emergency btw.

Congrats on finding the issue and glad it was not something more expensive. Good job on the first video of recognizing a problem and making the right decision to turn back. A 3 hour flight with a clogged injector would have not been good for the engine at all. When you have your family with you being safe is the most important thing.

No matter how good a engine or aircraft crud will manifest at some stage in those fine parts, be wary of fuel uploads from older fuel storage tanks also parts strip down after overhaul work where remnants of gaskets can cause issues if they get sucked into critical areas, you were lucky and we have all learned something from your excellent video's, thank you and happy safe flying with your family.

+Niko's Wings - I watched both the original emergency video and this video. Just want to say what a great job you did. You had some pretty precious cargo on board and did a fantastic job caring for them as well as yourself! Strong work sir!

When I watched your video for the first time, I was just about to take the instrument Checkride. Now I am about to step into the instruction world. Time flies. Safe flight buddy.
