To be good at anything not only gaming you simply have to repeat boring things over and over again, it requires motivation and discipline - and these are the most important skills in life, paired with social skills. Some people boast about IQ, being creative, "talented", all of that crap is useless when you are about to compete with someone disciplined enough.

part of the reason also is that veterans was seeking glory back then but now new players just want the paycheck rather than winning it all.

NA teams are good until EU teams starts trying, and then EU teams are good until Asian teams starts trying...

It’s about popularity, games blow up in the US and when they reach the top, they don’t usually stay there longer then a year or two, or even if they maintain a high player count, the “hype” dies down and people move on to newer games. Apex Legends is a good example of a game that’s more popular in NA than anywhere else and the best teams were all NA when Apex came out, you’re only now starting to see EU/Asian teams making it higher in the ranks and I believe part of that is due to lack of interest by US players since the game released. I don’t even have IRL friends who play LoL anymore, but the first 2 years it was out I had at least 20

I guess Melee players just love their game

NA focus on making money and making content for their fans because E-sports and being a "pro gamer" are still looked down on in NA. If NA stop looking down on being a pro then we could produce talent like we do in basketball, hockey, baseball, etc.

I mean yeah like he said culture has a lot todo with it, in NA people generally jump from one thing to another more often where as EU for example u will see much more "dedicated" gamers compared to NA "dedicated" gamers and its the "dedicated" ones who matter in terms of a regions performance in esports or any competitive aspect.

Rocket league esports is like that one esport where ive seen NA quite competitive

also the fact that eu doesnt prioritise money that much they focus more on what they enjoy which for the players is the game

I mean you can tell its the players or something in the players mental because you bring an import who was good on their former team over to an NA team and they suck then it has to be to the team to some degree

The funny thing is that he is right although NA has had great players in all of esports but and even titles like in csgo where c9 became the first and only na team to win a major tournament and than was only cause of two players going over performaning (skadoodle and stewie2k ) and these two players are the only north american players of any esport who have been in the same tier as players from the rest of the world a quick example would be that these are the only players from na that are in the same tier as faker and thats consider any esport ever aside from valorant which is still pretty new

It's just cuz console was king for a long time in NA and only with the rise of Fortnite people started switching to PC. Look at japanese gaming. Great at fighting games suck at PC games. EU has always been mainly PC.

Yeah I'd say this is a gross generalization. Fighting games and FPS besides CSGO are pretty heavily NA competitive. I think it is entirely based around culture but in the sense LS is talking about. It's the type of games we enjoy, what games are saturated in the market and the hype. That's all we care about. How hype is a game.

NA also has a shit ton more console gamers than any other region while also being the best console gamers in the world.

Eh fighting games, console games, and fps games tend to be competitive in NA. Na tends to have a higher focus on content creation though. There are just different cultures and focuses for different places in the world.

but that's boring. Learning is the fun part. Life's too short. I'd rather be in a new game exploring new stuff than play a game where you just repeat without something new. Refinement part feels like slavery. I play to have fun, not to imitate mundane repetitive real life stuff.

I was reading a comment saying that NA hate tryhards and that why they fucking suck, I honestly couldn't agree more

So we have higher base levels but the other regions have better scaling

Fighting games and MMO's is where NA tends to keep up and succeed. It is beyond me as to why LoL in NA is so bad.
