Absolutely amazing video, also Tom seems like a really down to earth guy, and very knowledgeable, /DRIVE should totally to a full length video, like *Inside NRE horsepower factory*, would love to see an update on their AWD mid engine hyepcar.

Don't know you, but I know the difference between bullshit and a man that knows what he's talking about.
My hotrodding days are over, I'm 73, but wish I had another go around to play with the LS.
Enjoyed your presentation.

It’s pretty hard to beat an LS engine. I drove my SS Camaro for 130K miles auto crossed it, open road raced it. All out mile races. Never skipped a beat. I never even changed the spark plugs!!! Car got 24mpg in 6th gear !!! Great engine the LS1.

This guy is obviously good at building LS motors, but he's even better on office chairs. He's built like 70 or 80 degrees of slouch into that thing. Mean. His face is so far away I don't even know what he looks like. What a boss.

"The motor is really about a combination of parts". As a seasoned tuner there could not be more of a true statement. My job is to ensure the combination plays nice together and is optimized to run as effectively as possible. The most important part of making power and hitting your goals is to create the correct combination, not just throw the "hottest" part at it and hope for the best.

Lots of nice input in this video, unfortunately this doesn't apply to other countries.

Great presentation. I'm very, very far from a tuner or mechanic, but it was explained to where even I could grasp the concepts.

First video in a while where they didn't tell me to go to /Drive+ ....this makes me wonder why Toyota doesnt sell 2JZ crate motors. The prices on 2JZ GTE's is getting ridiculous as the engine has aged. If they started remanufacturing them they could make a profit and it would lower the price. I can't imagine there isn't a market for that.

I am a woodworker. I make hand cut dovetails and box joints. My joints require clearances of between 3 to 4 thousandths. So watching your video I am appreciating the multitude of factors you must take into account, and the precision that you must achieve to produce your engines. My hat is off to you, You are a master, and your video is inspirational.

Very hard to believe that this has had 4.3 million views and only recieved <30k thumbs up? This is an extremely informative video, not just about the LS but there is a lot of golden tuning information in this video applicable to all engines/motors.

My sincere thanks for taking time to share all this info.

You guys should of asked this legend about "breaking in" engines. Damn.

Always thought its weird how America has always been exceptionally good at making engines but the rest of the car is hit or miss. Like the Ford GT 40 is Euro Muscle.
